Getting back in the game

Five or so years ago I rid myself of my childhood baseball card collection.  Thousands upon thousands of cards just sitting in storage; never being looked at.  I got rid of them because I was packing up to move and didn't want to take them with me again.  Before unloading them, I picked out all of the Blue Jays cards.  I packed them into a bin and then I forgot all about them.

Earlier this year, I bumped into that bin while putting away the Christmas tree.  My curiousity got the better of me.  I opened it and flipped through the cards.  Topps, Score, Fleer, Donruss, Upper Deck.  Even some Bowman, some Classic and a few Sportflics.  All the stuff that has come to be known as 'junk wax'.  In other words, the stuff is utterly worthless to most.  But not to me.  I'm glad I kept it, and am glad I rediscovered it.

In the weeks since, I have started to move some of those cards from boxes into binders; to checklist what's there and hopefully start to fill in what's missing.  There is a lot to go through.  It will take a while, but I'm in no rush.  In time, I will post some wantlists and am hoping to showcase different cards and sets.  With any luck, I'll meet other collectors, do some trading and just have fun collecting baseball cards like back in the day.

If you're a collector drop me a line.  I'd love to hear what others are collecting and setup some trades.

Thanks for reading.

Richard.
